Being fluent means that you can use a language flexibly, effectively, and spontaneously and understand the implicit meaning of phrases with ease. Here are some tactics to help you learn and speak any language fluently.

1 - Talk when you read and write

Reading and writing are essential aspects of learning a language with ease. Reading out loudly any text you read or write can increase your learning effectiveness. Reading and writing may involve doing exercises that require you to answer questions, complete sentences, or even write a message.  As you read loudly, you boost your confidence in the language you are learning.

2 - Watch movies with subtitles.

Watching movies with subtitles helps you learn new vocabulary and understand the native accent. When watching, note down the new words you learn and define them. You can then watch the movie again without reading the subtitles and understand much of the speech.

3 - Read local literature

There are renowned writers in every country, and by reading their literature, you can easily understand the language they use. It is even more important to read the literature loudly to practice speech. Reading literature aids in understanding a language and its specific dialects.

4 - Imitate

As you watch movies, music, or listen to natives as they speak, try to imitate them by pronouncing words they do. Pause the movie or music and repeat what an actor just said. As you imitate speech, your accent moves closer to native, and thus your fluency improves significantly.

5 - Interact with the language daily

It would help if you interacted with the language you are mastering to become fluent. Read local news, watch trending videos on YouTube, or watch local news stations. Read loudly and imitate what you watch. Consistency in practice increases your perfection of the language.
